Infrared thermography or as some people call it infrared scanning is a process of acquisition and analysis of thermal information from a non-contact thermal imaging devices.  

Benefits of using an Infrared Thermography device:

• It is a non-contact process which means a safe working distance can be kept while it is being performed.
• As it’s a non-contact exercise it does not affect the target object at all.
• It is two dimensional which allows the operator to measure more than one point simultaneously
• It is done in real-time allowing fast scanning of stationary objects
• It points out high risk areas which means faults can be fixed before they actually occur.
